The 150th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, with an official post time of 6:57 pm ET. Live coverage of the event will begin on NBC and Peacock at 2:30 pm ET.Other Events
In addition to the Kentucky Derby, there will be more than a dozen other races on Derby Day, starting at 7:00 am ET. Other events and activities during the lead-up to the Kentucky Derby include:- The Kentucky Oaks, the day before the Derby, is considered the premier race for 3-year-old fillies.
- Thurby, a free concert series featuring live music, food trucks, and a beer garden.
- Downs After Dark, a nightly party in the paddock area featuring DJs and entertainment.
